Prague’s landscape is built into the city: orchard hills, river terraces, sandstone and limestone valleys, old forests, gardens, and reservoir shore all sit within transit range. Steep paths, seasonal gates, heat, and winter ice determine which routes remain comfortable.
- Petřín HillPetřín climbs above Malá Strana through orchards, rose garden, woodland, old walls, and city viewpoints. The funicular timetable can save knees, while blossom season and sunset bring the thickest crowds to the upper paths.
- StromovkaStromovka spreads former royal hunting ground into lawns, ponds, old trees, running paths, and broad picnic space near Výstaviště. Floodplain restoration gives the park real water ecology beneath its easy recreational surface.
- Divoká ŠárkaDivoká Šárka cuts a rocky gorge through woodland, meadow, reservoir, and steep trails on Prague’s western edge. Tram access is easy, but rock, ice, heat, and crowded swimming days give different seasons completely different risks.
- Prokop ValleyProkop Valley follows limestone cliffs, quarries, dry grassland, forest, and a stream through southwest Prague. Fossil-rich geology and open slopes distinguish it from city parks, while bicycles and walkers share the main route.
- Prague Botanical GardenPrague Botanical Garden terraces vineyards, outdoor collections, Japanese planting, Mediterranean species, and the Fata Morgana tropical greenhouse above Troja. Separate areas and seasonal hours make a focused plan more efficient than aimless coverage.
- Vítkov HillVítkov Hill carries long tree-lined paths, steep neighborhood approaches, and broad views beside the National Memorial. It is more ridge and exercise route than ornamental park, with useful connections between Žižkov and Karlín.
