Best Bars in Phuket
Six bars cover different kinds of evening: composed cocktails, gin exploration, a beach-club table, live blues and reggae by the rocks. They span Old Town, Cherng Talay, Bang Tao and Kata, so choose a base before choosing a second stop.
The Fool Speakeasy
Tarot cards organise the cocktail menu in this Chana Charoen Road speakeasy, with spirit-forward drinks and Pan-Asian small plates giving the evening a clear focus. It suits a deliberate cocktail stop or a table with food, rather than an open-air beach night.
Shhh. Phuket
A key-cutting-shop frontage hides a small cocktail room where projected landmarks change the walls around you. Coded drinks use ingredients such as cacao, bergamot and jackfruit. The entrance is part of the fun, but the local flavours give the concept substance.
Catch Beach Club
Bang Tao sand, a pool and daybeds make this an all-day beach-club option, with DJs carrying the mood into the evening. A day pass or reserved table brings a different bill from a casual beer stop. Kitchen hours finish before the venue closes.
Little Tribe
Climb to a second-floor cocktail room near Boat Avenue for a gin-led drinks list and Thai ingredients. The collection runs to around fifty gins, giving enthusiasts more to explore than a single house serve. The inland Cherng Talay address puts it close to Boat Avenue’s restaurants.
Rockin’ Angels Blues Cafe
Blues bands, jams and guitars on the walls give this Yaowarat Road room its character. The setting is casual and music comes first, making it a useful counterpoint to Old Town’s composed cocktail bars. Monday is the regular closed night.
Ska Bar
A wooden bar grows around an old tree above the rocks at Kata’s southern end, with reggae, beer and the beach directly below. Its rough edges are part of the appeal. Steps and the shoreline setting make access less straightforward than a street-level pub.
