Three beaches, Adang views and black-stone shores in Koh Lipe

The three main beaches give easy walks different light and boat traffic. Beyond Lipe, Koh Adang's steep Chado trail and Hin Ngam's black stones require a boat and a plan around Tarutao National Park's site closures, weather and a daylight return.

  1. Sunrise Beach

Sunrise Beach faces Koh Adang and a channel dotted with longtail boats, with reefs and small offshore islands beyond the eastern shore. Boat moorings and seasonal arrival operations share the water with swimmers, so choose the entry point as carefully as the view.

  2. Pattaya Beach

Pattaya Beach forms Koh Lipe's broad southern crescent, with powdery sand, resort fronts and the entrance to Walking Street. Dry-season speedboat arrivals make parts of it a working landing area, leaving quieter swimming space towards the ends rather than in the boat lanes.

  3. Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is a smaller western bay with rocks, sand and a direct evening view over the Andaman Sea. Its limited facilities and changing tide give it a different character from Pattaya's resort strip; bring what is needed for the walk back after sunset.

  4. Chado Cliff Viewpoint

Chado's highest marked viewpoint looks across the channel from forested Koh Adang to the whole outline of Koh Lipe. The climb crosses uneven rock and rope-assisted sections; arrange a return longtail boat and leave enough daylight for the descent.

  5. Ko Hin Ngam

Ko Hin Ngam's shore is covered in rounded black stones polished by waves, rather than white sand. It is a boat excursion from Lipe within Tarutao National Park; leave the stones where they are, and keep the park's seasonal site closures central to the booking.
